The Jethro Ministry Story & Calling
Growing Those Who Lead
Jethro Ministries was founded on a simple yet profound truth: ministry leaders need support, structure, and wise counsel to fulfill their calling effectively.
Nurturing your spiritual journey
The Jethro Inspiration
In Exodus 18, we find Moses leading God’s people with incredible dedication—but also with unsustainable methods. He was judging disputes from morning until evening, wearing himself and the people out. Then Jethro, his father-in-law, arrived. Jethro observed, assessed, and then spoke truth in love: “What you are doing is not good. You will surely wear out, both yourself and these people… The task is too heavy for you; you cannot do it alone.”
Jethro didn’t just identify the problem—he provided a solution. He helped Moses establish a structural system of delegated leadership that brought order, efficiency, and sustainability to the ministry.
Our Mission
Today, Jethro Ministries exists to do the same for you. We come alongside pastors, ministers, and ministry organizations to:
Observe and assess current structures and practices
Identify areas of strain, inefficiency, or potential burnout
Provide biblical, practical counsel for sustainable ministry
Help implement systems that strengthen rather than hinder Kingdom work.
Who We Serve
We work with:
Senior and associate pastors
Ministry department heads
Church planters
Para-church organization leaders
Ministry founders and directors
Leadership teams facing growth challenges.
Our Approach
We combine biblical wisdom with practical organizational insight. Every recommendation we make is filtered through Scripture and designed for real-world ministry application. We don’t offer generic business advice—we offer counsel shaped by an understanding of the unique challenges and sacred nature of ministry work.
01
Ministry Structure & Organizational Design
The Challenge: Many ministries begin organically, but growth requires intentional structure. Without it, confusion, inefficiency, and burnout often follow.
How We Help:
Assessment of current organizational effectiveness
Development of clear chains of accountability
Creation of ministry job descriptions and role clarity
Design of decision-making processes that honor both wisdom and unity
Assistance with bylaws, policies, and governance structures
Who Needs This: Growing churches, ministries adding staff, organizations preparing for succession, or leaders feeling the strain of doing too much themselves.
02
Pastoral & Leadership Advisory
The Challenge: Leadership in ministry is uniquely demanding. The weight of spiritual responsibility combined with organizational pressure can leave leaders isolated and overwhelmed.
How We Help:
Confidential one-on-one advisory sessions
Leadership discernment for difficult decisions
Help navigating church conflict or difficult transitions
Strategic planning support
Accountability partnership for personal and ministry health
Who Needs This: Pastors facing difficult decisions, leaders in transition, those feeling isolated in their role, or anyone needing trusted counsel outside their immediate context.
03
Custom Advisory Support
The Challenge: Every ministry is unique. Sometimes your needs don’t fit neatly into predefined categories.
How We Help:
We offer customized advisory packages tailored to your specific situation. Whether you need ongoing support, help with a particular project, or guidance through a sensitive transition, we design a plan that fits.
Examples:
Interim leadership support
Merger or affiliation guidance
Facility expansion planning
Staff conflict resolution

Inspiring faith through service
Grow as a Leader with us
Whether you’re launching a new ministry, navigating growth, or restructuring for long-term health, Jethro Ministries offers targeted advisory services designed for the unique needs of spiritual leaders.
The pressures of pastoring, combined with a difficult church situation, had left me spiritually drained and questioning my calling. I needed more than advice—I needed a safe place to process. Jethro Ministries provided confidential, wise counsel that helped me navigate one of the hardest seasons of my life. They listened without judgment, spoke truth with compassion, and helped me see a way forward I couldn't see on my own. My ministry is healthier today because someone came alongside me when I needed it most. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

New Life assembly
We had good intentions but no clear roles, no shared vision, and meetings that went in circles. Tension between the board and pastoral staff had been building for months, and we knew something had to change. Jethro Ministries facilitated a leadership retreat that completely transformed how we function. They helped us clarify our roles, establish healthy communication practices, and rebuild trust with our pastoral team. The shift in our board culture has been nothing short of remarkable. We now work as a unified team rather than a divided group. Every ministry with a board should experience this kind of help.

Board Chair, Living Word Ministries
I was preparing to step back from day-to-day leadership after thirty years of ministry, and I had no idea how to navigate succession. The thought of leaving something I had built from the ground up was terrifying. Jethro Ministries came alongside me with a custom advisory plan that helped us walk through the transition with wisdom and care. They helped us prepare our board, develop our incoming leader, and communicate the transition to our congregation in a way that brought unity rather than division. I stepped down with peace, and our ministry is thriving under new leadership. I will be forever grateful for their guidance during such a critical season.
